Apply a discount (closed / open) in BEST POS (retail)

Step-by-step Instructions
1) Prerequisites
- Cashier is logged in; a sale is open on screen.
- Closed Discount (preset) and Open Discount keys are available.
- HALO thresholds and access levels are configured. A manager may be required for high amounts.
2) Line discount – closed discount (preset value)
- Scan or enter the item.
- Press Closed Discount (use the % or $ version as programmed on your keyboard).
- Check: the line shows the discount applied to that item.
- If HALO or permission warning: obtain manager approval, then repeat step 2.
3) Line discount – open discount (free-entered value)
- Scan or enter the item.
- Enter the discount value: either a percentage (e.g., 10) or a fixed amount (e.g., 5.00).
- Press Open Discount % for percentage or Open Discount $ for amount.
- Check: the line shows the discount applied to the item.
4) Subtotal discount (entire ticket)
- Finish entering items, then press Subtotal.
- For a closed discount, press the preset Closed Discount key for subtotal.
- For an open discount, enter the value and press Open Discount % or Open Discount $.
- Check: the discount applies to the subtotal before tender.
5) Tender and corrections
- Tender per your rules (direct payment or mandatory payment, multiple tenders allowed).
- Remove the last discount: use Void (undoes the last action).
- Keying error: use Correction/CE to clear current input and retry.
