Configure PAX PayFacto terminal in Veloce
Summary
This guide shows how to integrate a PAX PayFacto terminal (e.g., A80, A920) with Veloce POS. It covers network preparation, POS configuration, pairing with the terminal, and a test sale. Expected outcome: amount sent to the terminal, authorization, and approved status returned to Veloce.
Step-by-step Instructions
1) Prerequisites
- PAX PayFacto terminal activated by the provider (valid MID/TID).
- Stable LAN (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) with static IP or DHCP reservation for the terminal.
- Firewall/antivirus exclusions for POS <> terminal communication (PayFacto API port as per deployment).
- Administrator access in Veloce to edit integrated payment settings.
2) Steps
- Set terminal network: On the PAX, configure network and assign a static IP (or reserve via router). Note the terminal IP and API port.
- Verify date/time: On the terminal, sync date/time (NTP or manual). Time drift can cause transaction failures.
- Enable integrated payments in Veloce: In Settings > Payments > Terminals, add a terminal, choose PayFacto PAX, enter IP (and port if required), and assign it to the register.
- Option settings: Configure tips, contactless, cancel from POS, and receipt printing (POS vs terminal) to match your policy.
- Communication test: From the terminal screen in Veloce, run Ping/Test (if available). Confirm success on the PAX.
- Test sale: Open a register, make a small sale, choose Card. Confirm the amount appears on the terminal, complete the card flow, then verify Approved in Veloce and receipt printing.
3) Checks and validation
- The terminal displays the exact amount and expected payment method.
- Veloce receives Approved and properly closes the invoice.
- Receipts print according to your choice (POS and/or terminal) and end-of-day totals reconcile.
Fixes and FAQs
- Terminal does not receive amount: Recheck IP/port in Veloce, same-subnet connectivity, and firewall rules. Reboot both terminal and POS.
- Approved on terminal but invoice still open: Use transaction/state recovery in Veloce. If missing, contact support for reconciliation.
- Communication error: Verify terminal date/time, Wi-Fi/Ethernet stability, and antivirus exclusions.
- No tip prompt: Enable tips both in Veloce and in the PayFacto terminal profile.
