BEST POS - First sign in and change password

First Sign-In and Change Password in BEST POS

Summary

This guide explains the first sign-in after invitation, how to set and change your password, and how to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). It also covers password reset when forgotten and common errors (expired link, locked account).

Step-by-step Instructions

1) Open the invite and set the initial password

  1. Open the invitation email (from Vic-Tek / BEST POS) and click the setup link.
  2. Create a password that meets policy (minimum length, upper/lowercase, digits; special characters if required).
  3. Submit. You’ll be redirected to the sign-in screen.

2) First sign-in

  1. Enter your login (email or ID) and the password you set.
  2. If required by your org, you’ll be prompted to enable 2FA (authenticator app or SMS if available).
  3. Once signed in, verify expected menu access based on your role.

3) Enable / manage Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  • Go to My profile > Security and choose Enable 2FA.
  • Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, then enter the 6-digit code.
  • Download/store the recovery codes securely.
  • To change device, disable then re-enable 2FA from the same screen.

4) Change your password later

  1. Open My profile > Security > Change password.
  2. Enter the current and the new password (must meet policy).
  3. Submit. Sign out/in again if requested.

5) Reset when forgotten

  • From the sign-in screen, click Forgot password and enter your email.
  • Open the email and follow the reset link.
  • If you lost 2FA access, use a recovery code or ask an administrator to revoke 2FA and force a reset.

Fixes and FAQs

  • Invitation link expired: ask the admin to resend a new invite.
  • Account locked (too many attempts): wait the lockout period or contact an administrator.
  • Password rejected: ensure complexity (length, character mix) and avoid reusing previous passwords.
  • Lost 2FA device: use a recovery code or request an admin to revoke 2FA for your account.
  • Invite not received: check spam and email spelling; have the invite resent.
