BEST POS - Price overrides and corrections

Price Overrides and Price Corrections in BEST POS

Summary

This article explains how to manually override a line price and how to correct a price (rounding, unit, input error) while respecting permissions, approvals, and audit logs. It also covers how overrides interact with promos/coupons and tax recalculation.

Step-by-step Instructions

1) Prerequisites and rules

  • Role permissions for Price override and/or Price correction.
  • Know the caps (e.g., ±10%) and whether a reason or manager approval is required.
  • Promos/coupons may limit or block overrides on the same line.

2) Apply a price override (manual unit price)

  1. Select the item line.
  2. Choose Price override and enter the new unit price (e.g., 24.99).
  3. Enter a reason if prompted (e.g., customer adjustment).
  4. If above the cap, request manager approval and confirm.
  5. Click Subtotal to recalc discounts and taxes.

3) Correct a price (error, unit, rounding)

  • Input error: reopen the line, restore the catalog price, then re-enter the correct value.
  • Weighted/measured item: verify the unit (kg, L, m) and quantity; the total price follows the unit.
  • Rounding: when cash rounding applies, adjust the unit price and let rounding happen at Subtotal.

4) Remove an override and restore catalog price

  1. Select the line with an override.
  2. Click Remove override or Reset price.
  3. Confirm and run Subtotal to recalc.

5) Best practices and auditing

  • Avoid manual discount + override on the same line (double reduction risk).
  • Use standard reasons (e.g., damage, competitor price) to ease reporting.
  • Review the audit log: who, when, before/after, reason, approval.

Fixes and FAQs

  • Override blocked: exceeds cap or conflicts with a promo/coupon. Remove the promo or request approval.
  • Price snaps back: a promo recalculation overwrote the override; apply the override after selecting the promo or disable the promo.
  • Unexpected taxes: click Subtotal and verify the customer tax group.
  • Different rounding: rounding applies on totals; adjust the unit price rather than the total.
  • Wrong unit: recheck unit and quantity (kg vs each); price depends on the unit.
