Receipt Notes and Messages in BEST POS
Summary
This article explains how to add receipt messages (footer, legal text, promo), include sale-level notes and line notes, and control printing or email delivery. It also covers multilingual setup, templates, and best practices for compliance and marketing.
Step-by-step Instructions
1) Prerequisites and template settings
- Permissions to edit print templates and register settings.
- Decide which receipt sections to enable: header, body, footer, terms, promo message.
- Enable customer language (FR/EN) when dynamic language is needed.
- Go to BackOffice > Settings > Receipt printing.
- In Footer, enter your text (e.g., Thank you for your business, return policy, survey link).
- Optional: create two versions (FR/EN) and enable Use customer language.
- Save and test a print from POS.
3) Add a sale note (printed on the receipt)
- On the sale screen, click Invoice info / Note.
- Enter a note for the transaction (pickup instructions, appointment, job number).
- Tick Print on receipt if the note should be visible to the customer.
- Save. The note prints in the Comments area of the receipt.
4) Add a line-level note
- Select the item line and choose Line note.
- Enter an instruction (assembly required, special color, extra serial/IMEI info).
- Tick Print on receipt to show it below the related line.
- In BackOffice > Marketing > Receipt messages, create a message with conditions (dates, categories, basket amount).
- Set priority (active promo > generic message) and duration.
- Prepare a short version to avoid overly long receipts.
6) Printing, email, and archiving
- At tender, choose Print, Email, or both.
- Sale/line notes marked to print are included in the PDF and paper versions.
- Global and promo messages appear in the footer or the dedicated area.
Fixes and FAQs
- Message not showing: check the selected template at POS and that Print on receipt is ticked.
- Text is cut off: shorten content; avoid multiple line breaks; test both paper and PDF.
- Wrong language: enable Customer language and provide both FR/EN versions.
- Receipt too long: move details to a link (site or QR) and keep essentials on the receipt.
- Promo not printed: verify dates, conditions (category, basket), and priority.
